Blue Ridge Christian School was started when a group of parents came together with a shared vision for Christian Education in Alleghany County. The Story of BRCS is a story of God's faithfulness to those who follow Him.
At BRCS, each school day begins in prayer and worship; a day where the focus is not just learning facts but becoming disciples of Christ. There is a distinct philosophy that sets Blue Ridge Christian School apart from many other educational institutions. We believe that spiritual formation and academic education are more robust and meaningful when driven by the child’s own desire to worship and to learn. This is the foundation of every school day.
Students at Blue Ridge Christian School benefit from small class sizes and specialized attention from our staff of highly qualified professional educators.
At BRCS all subjects are taught with the Biblical perspective woven into the curriculum. Students are taught that the things we learn in school are a part of God’s creation and they help us understand our role in it.
Blue Ridge Christian School is located on the former Glade Valley High School Campus. GVHS was started by the Orange Presbytery in 1909. Our main classroom building is located in the former Snow-Armentrout auditorium. BRCS held it's first day of school in the fall of 2011 with 25 students.
Our mission is to inspire our students to become life-long learners through engaging their curiosity and helping them discover their talents. We seek to encourage our students to desire a life of passionately following Jesus.
